The St. Lawrence Seaway: Options to Eliminate Introduction of Nonindigenous Species into the Great Lakes, Phase II
Phase II of this project will identify and explore options for the Great Lakes region that (a) enhance the potential for global trade in the Great Lakes Region and (b) eliminate further introductions of non-indigenous aquatic species into the Great Lakes by vessels transiting the St. Lawrence Seaway. The committee will commission papers, hold a symposium during which papers will be presented and discussed, and develop a range of practical and technically feasible options that meet the project criteria. The committee's final report will comment on the strengths and weaknesses of the options identified and suggest approaches that seem most promising for more detailed evaluation and possible implementation.
