Southern California Regional Transit Training Consortium
This amendment provides ongoing support to the Southern California Regional Transit Training Consortium (Consortium) resource network, comprised of public and private organizations focused on development and employment of the transit industry's workforce. The Consortium's goal is to develop a new learning model to increase the professional and technical competency of the Southern California public transit workforce. The learning model will include elements of Intelligent Transportation Systems and expand to both the regional and national levels. The Consortium operates as a partnership between the regional transit agencies, interested educational institutions, government agencies, private sector partners, and employees of affiliated transit agencies. The overriding philosophy of the consortium is to provide an education and training process that will enhance the ability of transit employees and transit agencies to provide more efficient and safer public transit service utilizing "state of the art" technologies and systems.
