FHWA-LTPP

Long-Term Pavement Performance Program (LTPP) is a 20-year program initiated by SHRP in 1998 to monitor in service pavement sections over the United States and Canada with goals to improve pavement design, maintenance, and rehabilitation. The program was managed by SHRP for the first five years and is now managed by FHWA/TRB. new York has five GPS sections, one SPS8, and one Seasonal Monitoring Program (SMP) section. The objective of this project is to provide the staffing, expertise and all necessary assistance for FHWA-LTPP activities (GPS/SPS, Seasonal Monitoring, WIM, etc.) in New York State.
