USE OF FIBER COMPOSITE MATERIALS FOR FATIGUE CRACK REPAIR IN STEEL BRIDGE GIRDERS AND OTHER METAL STRUCTURES (EXPLORATORY PROJECT)
Exploratory research will be conducted in order to demonstrate the possibilities of using fiber composite for repair of fatigue cracks by: studying the behavior of a fatigue crack repair scheme using composite materials; implementing of NDE techniques for evaluating the repair; and evaluating the influence of surface steel condition in the performance of the repair.
