Quality Assurance and Quality Control Guidelines

This project supports the contractor's effort to revise and update the March 1992 document titled Quality Assurance and Quality Control Guidelines (QA/QC), incorporating the most current theories, best practices, and quality management systems. The guidelines will provide an overview of quality in capital projects, and serve as an up-to-date and valuable resource for local transit agencies and others undertaking a major transit capital project. It will discuss development of a Quality Plan throughout the different project phases (project planning, preliminary engineering and final design etc.); highlight benefits of QA/QC in transit project development; complement Project Management Oversight Program; present case studies and lessons learned; and increase the reader's understanding of the respective interest in quality from a service provider, owner, and user point of view.
