Advanced Traveler Information Systems Human Factors
The objective of this project is to determine customer preferences for the display of traveler information. One of the most widely implemented ITS technologies in public transit today is the traveler information system. This series of workshops in four cities in the United States is designed to obtain customer input related to the delivery and operation of advanced traveler information systems (ATIS). Workshops will be conducted to query transit riders about their preferences and expectations regarding traveler information services. The research will focus on the format and method of receipt of real-time and incident related information. The result will be a guide related to human factors concerns on implementation of transit traveler information systems. Project is funded under the DOT National ITS Program.
