Cardozo Senior High School TransTech Academy
The objective of this project is to provide inner-city high school students with a well-rounded academic and technological program that exposes them to career opportunities in the field of transportation. This cooperative agreement provides ongoing support to the Transportation Technical Academy (TransTech) at Cardozo Senior High School--the first transportation studies academy in the Washington, DC area. The academy is designed to provide inner-city high school students with a well-rounded academic and technological program that exposes them to career opportunities in the field of transportation. Educational resources offered to students include after school study internships, mentoring programs, summer work programs, field trips, counseling and other resources relevant to career and education opportunities in transportation. This project supports the November 1993 Declaration of Partnership and Memorandum of Understanding between the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Superintendent of D.C. Public Schools. The partnership alliance was formed by the D.C. Public School to obtain financial, technical, and staffing resources supporting the continued operation of the TransTech Academy.
