Optimum Design and Installatiion Practices and Performance Evaluations for Highway-Railway at Grade Crossings

This project will evaluate typical design procedures and develop the most cost effective structural design practices. It will evaluate effects of loadings and measure pressure distributions within various crossing structures, and document installation practices to ensure acceptable performance and service life. Appropriate test procedures and criteria will be developed to evaluate acceptable ride quality of crossings.
