Development, Deployment, and Testing of an Integrated Commercial Vehicle Safety System

This project will allow Kentucky to move forward on several fronts to enhance the safety of commercial vehicle operations. Specifically, the project will include the: (1) installation of electronic screening technology at the Boone County weigh station; (2) installation of a nuclear detector, license plate reader, and infrared monitoring system at the Laurel County weigh station; and (3) installation of the Commercial Vehicle Safety System on a fleet of vehicles for a one-year real-world evaluation.
