Beta Testing of Software--Phase II
The objectives of this study are (1) to conduct comprehensive beta testing and/or model verification of selected computerized traffic models, including the TRAF family models developed by the FHWA; (2) evaluate and assess the quality of the program documents; (3) assist FHWA in identifying and documenting any program bugs; and (4) make recommendations for future enhancements to the models. This activity will allow practitioners to assess the integrity and application of newly modified or developed FHWA software so that the user will be involved in the software development process. This will enable FHWA to better match user needs, thereby reducing the time needed to bring traffic engineering software to the market-ready stage. The product will meet the ATMS objectives as specified in the TFHRC Strategic Plan for the FHWA/ITS Research Program.
