Strong Arm Docker

The objective of this research project is to reduce pollution and excess energy use from passenger ferries idling at ½ to ¾ throttle while at dock. This will be achieved by developing a prototype device to hold the ferry in place while loading and off-loading passengers.

  • Supplemental Notes:
    • In October NYSERDA requested that CEEP stop work due to several project issues which were subsequently resolved at a January 5, 2006 meeting between all parties including NYSDOT. There is no final report available.
