Criteria for Justification and Design of Auxiliary Lanes
The objectives of this study are to develop warrants and guidelines for the use and design of right-turn and left-turn auxiliary lanes for both signalized and unsignalized intersections. The availability of such warrants and standards will aid highway design, traffic engineering, and access permitting practices with Kentucky. In addition, the results of this study will be integrated in Kentucky's evolving access management program.
