Reducing the Environmental Impacts of Recycled Concrete Aggregate in Highway Applications
This study will benefit Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) for the best Recycled Concrete Aggregate (RCA) base application with minimized negative impacts. This includes investigating the effects of aggregate blends, soil type, and layer thickness on the pH of effluent and concentration of leachates over the short and long term. Recommendations will also be made on the minimum distance from the RCA base to the groundwater.
