Evaluate the Implementation of Hot Mix Asphalt Thick-Lift Paving

The research team will explore the feasibility and benefits of using thick lift hot mix asphalt (HMA) paving to improve the efficiency of Texas Department of Transportation's (TxDOT’s) construction operations. Researchers will also explore if standard vibratory pavers can produce thick lifts that meet current quality and ride specifications and identify the best practices for durable, smooth pavements.
