Empowering the Transportation Workforce Through Technology Transfer
This project strengthens Mid-America Transportation Center's (MATC’s) research, workforce development, and technology transfer objectives by supporting undergraduate and graduate student participation in regional and national transportation conferences. Funding will enable students to present MATC-supported research, engage with professionals, and explore career pathways. The project will also partially support the Midwest Innovation & Development in Transportation Symposium (MIDTRANS) in Fall 2027, including a dedicated MATC research session. Additional activities include collaborative technology transfer and reporting efforts with principal investigators and Kansas DOT to advance the deployment of transportation safety innovations and efficiently track KU MATC key performance metrics required by USDOT.
