3D SPT - Seismic Imaging for Bartow Project

The 3D SPT -seismic method (Mirzanejad et al. 2020) integrates seismic analysis with invasive SPT testing for volumetric imaging. During SPT advancement, each hammer blow acts as a seismic source at a known depth. A surface array of geophones (typically 48 sensors arranged over a 60 ft x 80 ft area) records the wavefields. Using 3D elastic full - waveform inversion, the recorded data are transformed into a 3D Vs model extending laterally up to 60 ft (18 m) from the borehole and to the full SPT depth.
