Improving Public Transportation in Rural Areas and Tribal Communities
NCHRP Research Report 1144/TCRP Research Report 251: Public Transportation in Rural Areas and Tribal Communities: Guide for Service Improvements provides a guide to help public transit agencies in rural and tribal communities initiate new or enhance existing public transportation services to improve mobility and accessibility, enhance performance, and consider appropriate innovations. The guide will help transit providers determine the service designs and modes that are most appropriate within their community and support implementation of those services. This guide will be of immediate use to public transportation providers and stakeholders that plan and provide public transportation services in rural areas and tribal communities throughout the United States.
