Technology Solutions to Enhance Rail Safety
This research effort focuses on preparing the Department to leverage the existing and futuristic technologies for improving operational and safety performance of highway-rail grade crossings (HRGCs). The specific objectives include: (1) identify technology solutions to improve safety and mobility at HRGCs; and (2) evaluate the performance of different technologies in improving safety and mobility at HRGCs.
