Leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Asset Inventories and Management
Texas Southern University, in partnership with the University of Houston, will expand the Texas Department of Transportation’s Transportation Asset Management Plan (TAMP) which currently only includes pavements and bridges. Other state departments of transportation (DOTs) have already included five additional assets: traffic signals, sign supports, pavement markings, and highway buildings, acknowledging their importance to the safety and integrity of the roadway network. This effort will increase the value of various data sources to assist in informed procurement decisions.
