TMA Truck Safety
MoDOT has had many truck mounted attenuators (TMA) hits and the seat/seatbelt/cab area have had differing types of damage. This project would look to see if certain types of trucks, seats, and/or restraint combinations tend to keep the driver safer than others. This would most likely consist of computer modeling for at least the first phase since crash testing multiple configurations would be too costly. Efforts would be made to get information from manufacturers but likely that information would not be shared.
