Development of County Bridge Standards for Single Span Concrete Slab Bridges - Phase II

This project involves final design (Phase 2) for development of county bridge standards for Single Span Concrete Slab (SSCS) bridges. Previously completed Phase 1 included a literature review/survey, review of feasible span lengths and skews, widths, abutment types, and preliminary analysis/sizing as necessary to perform cost comparisons. Recommended bridge design criteria, implementation, and future research were presented in the final report. The Iowa Highway Research Board (IHRB) recommended proceeding with Phase 2 at the September 2022 meeting.
