Breaking Down Commercial Motor Vehicle Crashes: What are the Main Causes?
The number of commercial motor vehicle (CMV) crashes in Idaho showed a notable increase in the past year. Safety for all roadway users is a core mission of the Idaho Transportation Department. Crashes can have a lifetime impact on Idaho residents as well as resulting in traffic congestion and lost mobility for people and goods. This project will examine CMV crash data to determine common causes and contributing circumstances. Researchers will develop recommendations for effective countermeasures for mitigating CMV crashes.
