Development of a Health and Wellness Assessment for KYTC Personnel
In 2022, Kentucky ranked 43rd in America’s Health Rankings. Injury prevention, safety training, incident investigations, hazard recognition and mitigation, and other initiatives are often created and managed to promote safe workplaces. But initiatives that focus on the overall health and well-being of employees can often be overlooked even though poor health status can be a significant contributing factor to safety incidents and injuries in the workplace. An effort to research the health and well-being of Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) employees, identify gaps in overall health awareness and training, and explore opportunities to improve the overall health of Cabinet staff will confer direct benefits to the agency and its workforce.
