Effects of Legalization of Marijuana on Traffic Safety
Work for this Transportation Research Synthesis (TRS) will include a review of the latest research on the traffic safety effects of marijuana legalization as well as a survey of practice involving 22 State Departments of Transportation and/or Public Safety where recreational use is legal. Expert consultation may be desired for learning more about what effects law enforcement agencies have seen after legalization, if they have identified the need for more Drug Recognition Experts, and how law enforcement agencies determine impairment of recreational users.
