Wireless Power Transfer Research Topic
In the context of the growing electrification of transport vehicles, wireless power transfer (WPT) appears as an appealing alternative technology as it enables road powered electric vehicles (RPEVs) to charge while driving and without any mechanical contact (i.e., overhead cables or rails in the ground). Although the technology dates from the end of the 20th century, recent advances in semiconductor technologies have enabled the first real demonstrations. It is within this context that the Florida Department of Transportation has requested a white paper and preliminary literature review and state of the practice assessment on this technology
