Implementing Inductive Loop Signature Technology for Vehicle Classification Counts
The goal is to use loop signature technology to automate current vehicle classification data collection practices (manual, tube or piezo sensors) by upgrading existing inductive loop cards in the cabinet with loop signature capability. Adding benefit to existing infrastructure has an advantageous benefit over adding new technology. This project aims to add vehicle classification capability to existing loop-based volume count installations. The loop signature technology has the potential to save time and money, and could provide State, County or City more data especially in the metro area where loop detectors are already installed.
