Assessment and Enhancement of Concrete Interface Bond
Concrete-to-concrete interfaces are a common occurrence in infrastructure construction. The bond of the freshly placed concrete to the new concrete is dependent on a number of factors. It is possible to increase the bondability of the old concrete and the new concrete through various method. It is also possible to quantitatively assess the bond, and thus specifying bond thresholds in construction documents is possible. This research will investigate methods of bond assessment and enhancement.
