Developing and refining fragility curves used for ShakeCast and implementation of ShakeCast across multiple states

Coordinating with California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), this task will identify most suitable and broadly available data for the fragility models. Planned tasks include extending recent development to cover the most common classes of bridges in high or low seismic zones, defining available bridge management data for the use of evaluating fragility, updating for additional data given by SNBI, and assisting in development of fragility for other hazards (e.g. scour, coastal storm or blast). The product will benefit the damage prediction capability, which has been recently demonstrated to FHWA leadership, Emergency Operations, DFSs, and Division Offices for supporting emergency response.
