Assess Options for Utilizing Highway Rights-of-way
This activity develops analyses of policies enabling alternative or mixed uses of highway segments to understand how the value of these rights of these existing rights-of-way might best be captured to enhance transportation system and/or economic performance. Phase 1 involves a study requested in a Senate Committee report for the FY 2020 appropriations act on the implications of withdrawing existing sections from the Interstate System in terms of impacts on safety, mobility, the movement of goods and services, national defense, and the environment.
