Develop Cloud-based Enhanced NBIAS and Provide Analyses for 25th & 26th C&P Reports
This activity supports significant enhancements, maintenance, and use of the National Bridge Investment Analysis System (NBIAS) model for C&P analyses. Enhancements include development of NBIAS version 5.4 and conversion of the model to a cloud-based software platform. C&P analysis includes preparation of the National Bridge Inventory (NBI) data for analysis, updating of parameters, the development of new reporting features, and support for running NBIAS simulations for FHWA's use in developing a series of 20-year capital investment scenarios for inclusion in a biennial report to Congress and other investment decision analyses. Version 5.4 allows NBIAS to successfully interface with the revised the National Bridge Inventory (NBI) and enables refinements in bridge analysis. Establishing in-house cloud-based access to NBIAS enables broader and more timely use of NBIAS to support policy research and makes this model available to researchers across USDOT.
