500 Series Data Collection and Methodology Improvement
The work covers the collection, analysis and processing of licensed driver, highway finance, motor fuel, and vehicle registration data. Specific activities include: (a) developing and testing alternative methods to transition from State reporting of aggregate motor vehicle registration and licensed driver data, to bulk reporting of unaggregated VIN and driver license data, (b) maintaining and improving the platform to collect all 500 series data in a timely manner, and (c) collecting data at a national level on state laws, taxes and fees pertaining to motor fuels, licensed drivers, motor vehicle registrations, and state and local highway financing.
