Testing UVC Lighting Technology to Improve Rural Transit Systems
The project will install 68 ultraviolet-C (UVC) lighting units in public transit vehicles and personal vehicles operated by volunteer drivers. VTrans will test the efficacy of this technology as a measure to combat the spread of viruses, increase safety of drivers and passengers, and build confidence in the safety of public transportation
