Cooperative Automated Vehicles
In this research, shared maneuver functions for Cooperative Driving Automation (CDA) will be tested and validated on closed-course facilities, and an independent evaluation of benefits will be conducted. Stakeholder collaboration and development, using an Open Source Software platform, will facilitate coordinated research and technology transfer with the public sector, private industry, and academia. This research is being conducted in partnership with the ITS JPO, FMCSA, NHTSA, and MARAD. This research was a new start in FY19, with additional elements beginning in FY20. Testing and refinement began in FY21 and will continue in FY22.
