Improving Analysis, Modeling, and Simulation (AMS) for Connected and Automated Vehicle (CAV) Capabilities
This project will improve current Analysis, Modeling, and Simulation (AMS) capabilities in assessing the performance of connected and automated vehicles (CAV). Data sets generated from this project will support new CAV operations models that will allow for more realistic assessments of CAV impacts on traffic system performance. The tools will allow state and local agencies to make more informed decisions on strategies that incorporate CAVs in their transportation systems management and operations. The approach will be to provide open data sets and models and to develop the models "in the open."
