Enhancement of MDOT SHA Pavement Construction History Program
Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) is recognized as one of the leaders in Pavement Management Systems (PMS) by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and several state Departments of Transportation (DOTs). Construction history data, such as pavement maintenance, preservation and rehabilitation activities are one of the critical components to accurately report pavement accomplishments for MDOT’s Asset Management efforts and FHWA’s Transportation Asset Management Plan efforts. MDOT SHA will research and populate missing as-built pavement asset treatments for approx. 2,518 MDOT maintained ramps (~580 lane miles) and approx. 1,647 routes (375 lane miles) which are <1-mile in length, utilizing state-of-the-practice technology, resources, tools.
