Synthesis: Develop Guidance for Local Government Building Codes for Bridges
Current bridge codes or standards put in place by local governments have not been synthesized and well-documented, making it challenging for Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) divisions and districts to provide the necessary guidance in their continued partnerships with cities and counties. The research team’s guidance can improve the design, construction, and maintenance of off-system bridges considering the research team engineers’ extensive related experience. The research team will compile practical recommendations from an integrated bridge design, construction, and maintenance perspective to work with local governments.
