Performance Enhancement of Battery Electric Trucks in Drayage Fleet Operation with Wireless Opportunity Charging at Port Terminals
This project studies the application of wireless charging to enhance performance of battery electric truck fleets through range extension. Proper placement of wireless charging zones to maximize fleet-level benefits for battery electric trucks employed in drayage operation will be investigated. Effects of wireless charging will be simulated through a microscopic battery electric truck energy consumption model. Additionally, truck scheduling to enhance drayage fleet performance with battery electric trucks will be analyzed.
