Understanding How Street Reconstruction Affects Property Value
This study will adopt two approaches to explore how road improvements influence property values and residents’ quality of life. First, we will interview residents about their perceived costs of poor road conditions and survey planners/engineers of local governments about their perceived benefits of road improvements. We expect to identify the divergence in their perceptions and produce a holistic list of quantifiable and non-quantifiable benefits associated with road improvements.
