NCHRP Implementation Support Program. Training for Highway Construction Noise Prediction Model-RCNM2.0
The Federal Highway Administration developed the Roadway Construction Noise Model (RCNM) in response to growing public concern and complaints about construction noise. To ensure compliance with state, local, and project-specific noise restrictions, under the NCHRP 25-49 project, RCNM 2.0 was developed, an improved model for predicting construction noise and the effects of noise reduction efforts. Since the release of RCNM 2.0 users have reported difficulty installing and using the model. The objective of this implementation project is to develop training to facilitate practitioner implementation of RCNM 2.0 by providing instruction on how to get started using the software.
