Modal Comparison Update: 2001-2019
In December 2007, the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) submitted a report to the U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD) and the National Waterways Foundation (NWF) titled “A Modal Comparison of Domestic Freight Transportation Effects on the General Public”. Since that time, several updates to the study have been performed, with the last update covering the period 2001 to 2014. This study will cover the period 2001 to 2019. Effects will cover congestion, emissions, energy efficiency, safety, and infrastructure impacts.
