Research objectives include: Documentation of the broader transportation impacts in Indiana of platooning and other emerging freight-carrying disruptive technologies and practices; Identification of favorable opportunities for Indiana & INDOT to capitalize on the likely future conditions of highway freight transportation; Establishment of proactive initiatives by the state to accommodate and foster the freight operations-related emerging technologies; Evaluation methodology for assessing truck platoon impacts that can be used by INDOT.
