SPR-4541: Roadside Barrier End Treatments: Safety Evaluation of INDOT Inventory Inventory and Practices
This project will establish a basis for state-specific end treatment selection guidelines applicable to various traffic and road conditions: speed, motor vehicle volume, presence of heavy trucks and motorcycles, available space, barrier end location. The guidelines will promote most effective solutions while reducing the number of treatment types to improve their maintenance. The cost effectiveness will consider the reduction in crash severity and frequency and the cost of end treatment alternatives within the life cycle analysis for new installation or for replacement of existing ones.
