SPR-4524: Evaluation of the Impact of On Vehicle Digital Communication Alerts to Improve INDOT and Motorist Safety
Deployment of the on-board digital communication is maturing rapidly for emergency vehicles. This project will conduct trial deployments on Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) fleet vehicles to (1) quantify the impact of the alerting technology on traffic, (2) develop procedures for coordination of technology in moving work zones, (3) identify opportunities to partner with automotive companies and navigation software to broaden dissemination and impact of alerts.
