Update to Mississippi DOT Research Documentation and Training Tools

The Research Division within Mississippi DOT (MDOT) maintains detailed documentation on the agency’s research processes not only to comply with federal regulations but also to provide critical information to all stakeholders in the research process. The most recent research guidance from MDOT was in need of updating to reflect current procedures as well as new requirements. Through this research project, investigators drafted, revised and delivered three publications: an internal research manual detailing all agency processes, a less detailed public-facing research manual meeting federal requirements, and a research consultant manual that provides comprehensive guidance for all external researchers. Developed and published in support of these manuals were supplementary guidance documents, Microsoft Word- and Excel-based templates for consultants, and three training modules targeted for different user audiences.
