Smart Work Zone Deployment Initiative (FY20-FY24)

This program represents an on-going effort among cooperating state state departments of transportation (DOTs), the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), universities, and industry to evaluate new products and conduct related research focused on the enhancement of safety and mobility in highway work zones. Over 100 studies and evaluations have been completed since the inception of the Smart Work Zone Deployment Initiative (SWZDI) and final reports are posted in the SWDZI web site at https://swzdi.intrans.iastate.edu/.
