Analysis of Local Bus Markets, Phase III
The study involves a large-scale survey of riders using 38 NJ TRANSIT bus routes in the Newark Bus Market to generate a large database that will include the riders’ origin-destination patterns, trip frequency, access/egress modes, demographics, etc. The dataset will be used by the research team to analyze rider and trip characteristics as well as to estimate the amount of greenhouse gas emissions that would be generated if the riders drove cars instead of taking the buses. The dataset will be used by NJ TRANSIT for Title-VI analysis, service planning, and forecasting.
