SPR-4310: Legal and Permit Loads Evaluation for Indiana Bridges
The purpose of the proposed research is to examine three aspects of legal and permit loads used in Indiana. Firstly, the aim is to review current INDOT software used to screen and evaluate permit requests. Secondly, the evaluation of various new truck loads will be examined in depth, including vehicles considered in the FAST Act. Lastly, the current legal loads will be examined to consider their influence on posting requirements used in Indiana. If it is believed that changes in the Indiana legal loads are needed, then recommendations will be proposed.
