SPR-4333: Telematics and Utilization Analysis for INDOT Mowing Operations
INDOT mows several thousand miles of right-of-way adjacent to state roads using either contractors or in-house staff. Project goals are to obtain quantitative information characterizing the utilization and productivity of mowing resources (equipment and operators) to identify opportunities to improve in-house management of mowing as well as objective evaluation of contracting vs. in-house mowing. Performance measures and project analysis will result in recommendations and best practices that will increase the efficiency of INDOT mowing operations.
