Impact of Investment on Transportation Performance and the Economy

This research program focuses on assessing the relationship between highway investment and the conditions and performance of the Nation's highways and bridges as well as the impact of such investment on the broader national economy. Key program components include supporting the development of the biennial Status of the Nation's Highways Bridges and Transit: Conditions and Performance Report to Congress continuing the on-going development and refinement of the Highway Economic Requirements System and National Bridge Investment Analysis System models and other microeconomic tools and utilizing advanced econometric methodologies to quantify linkages between transportation infrastructure investments and private sector economic performance.
