Pavement Management Support for the Iowa DOT and Local Agencies

The work described in this proposal covers the activities required for the continued support of the Iowa Department of Transportation (Iowa DOT) and local agencies' pavement management practices. This proposal combines two existing pavement management related projects (The Iowa DOT pavement management optimization and the support for the Iowa Pavement Management Program (IPMP)). The tasks described below cover pavement management support activities for both the Iowa DOT and local and regional agencies in the state. The work described in this proposal is a continuation of previous projects on pavement management for the Iowa DOT and local and regional agencies in the state. This work plan covers the period January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2018. The work described covers both implementation and operation activities, including database maintenance and updates, data collection technology evaluation, automated distress data collection, data quality assurance, pavement management software, and training. The work tasks are often interrelated, and work on such related tasks will often be conducted simultaneously. The work tasks are also likely to involve several sub-tasks, many of which are too detailed to describe in this document. IPMP General Tasks: 1. Database Administration, Maintenance, Update, and Enhancement. 2. Pavement Management Software. 3. Training Workshops. 4. General Implementation and Operation Activities. Iowa DOT Pavement Management Activities: 5. Automated Distress Data Quality Assurance (QA). 6. Pavement Data Quality Assurance Plan. 7. Pavement Management Plan. 8. Pavement Management Support/Data Analysis.
